CFTR Interactions

A variety of intracellular proteins are associated with CFTR.  Mutliple chaperone systems and trafficking proteins have been implicated in regulating CFTR's movement within the cell and to the plasma membrane.  Once at the membrane, CFTR associates with other ion channels and intracellular proteins via its C-terminal PDZ ligand.  These interactions are critical for CFTR function, recycling and degradation.
